Papers of the Frost and Simpson families of York, Maine, include letters to Charles Frost concerning the conduct of the French and Indian War and British taxation; several bills of account of Captain Joshua Simpson; notes from Theophilus Simpson requesting his share of prizes taken by the privateering ship Hercules and the sloop Ranger, commanded by John Paul Jones; letters concerning repairs and maintenance of a bridge in York; and an 1844 taxbook which lists taxes assessed for York and its environs.
